Eastman-Stoddard House

Savannah, Ga.
Is this a real apparition?

This is one of the most unusual photos we've ever captured.   It was taken at random
with a 35 mm camera using kodak 400 speed film while we were on vacation in
Savannah, Ga. in October of 2005.   Upon a closer look at the image on the
balcony, it appears to be a confederate soldier.

We thought this photograph most unusual and worthy of posting on on the
website.   While we are no photography experts, please feel free to draw your
own conclusions.   We are currently doing some research on the house.

Update 8/16/2006

The house is located at 233 Bull Street on Chippewa Square.   Construction of the
house begun for jeweler Moses Eastman in 1844 and was completed for planter John
Stoddard in 1847.   The building's third story was added in the 20th century.   In 1953,
it was purchased by the Atlantic Mutual Fire Insurance Company.   The house is now
used by a Savannah law firm.   This eliminates one possible theory that the house
was a musuem and possibly we had photographed a dummy or mannequin.

Teresa, a very good friend of mine who works at "The Book" gift shop in Savannah
has been helping me find out more about the house.   Recently she informed me that
she came across a man who use to work at the house as a insurance agent some 20
years ago.   He tells of a haunting there by that of a little blonde haired girl, who is
seen often and likes to play on the elevator.   He had no knowledge as to if the house
may be haunted by a soldier or if anyone else had any encounters of this kind.
However he did mention that during the civil war that Mr. stoddard, the then
owner of the house did take in a wounded confederate soldier that died in the
house shortly thereafter.
