Listed below is some of our Protocols and Standards that we use when doing an investigation.   As with
anything, common sense is needed when doing an investigation.

Basic SVPS Protocols

Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
No alcohol at any time during an investigation.
No smoking during an investigation in the field.
No horseplay during an investigation.
No trespassing on private property.
Promote a positive attitiude while on investigations.
Be respectful in cemeteries and battlefields.
Be aware of your surroundings and area of investigation.
Be considerate of other group members.
Keep noise down to a minimum, be aware of your surroundings.
No provoking or angering spirits to obtain evidence.   Always be respectful.
No Ouija boards or séances during an investigation.
No methods of raising spirits or summoning spirits during an investigation.

SVPS Photography Protocols

Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
No taking photographs during bad weather, rain, fog, snow, wind.
No taking photographs during dusty conditions.
No fingers around camera lens.
Keep long hair tied back away from camera lens.
Avoid taking photographs facing into the sun.
Avoid taking photographs around shiny objects or surfaces.
Whe using a 35 camera, use 400 and 800 speed film.
Make notes of lights/objects that could cause false images.
Keep your camera strap secure and tied around your wrist.
Let fellow investigators know when you are taking photographs in an area.
Never smoke on investigation, especially while taking photographs.


SVPS Audio Protocols

Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Do not use a micro-cassette recorder.
Always be respectful and ask permission to ask questions.
Always use question and answer session.
Form your questions using research of the area or people involved.
(Cassette Recorders) always use name brand, new tapes.
(Cassette Recorders) only record on one side of the tape.
(Cassette Recorders) never record over an recorded tape.
Use an external miscrophone if possible.
Always have fresh batteries and extras on hand.
If your recorder has a sensitivity level, adjust it to the highest level.
State the time, date, location, and weather conditions to begin your session.
Keep enviroment as quiet as possible.
Identify outside noises as soon as they happen.
Never whisper, always talk in a normal voice.
Absolutely never provoke or anger to get a response!
Be respectful, end your session and thank the deceased you have tried to contact.
Know your equipment inside and out!
