Poogan's Porch Restaurant

Charleston, SC.

Located in the heart of the French Quarter District, Poogan's Porch is one of Charleston's best dining
expereinces.   It was built in 1887 as a residental house and eventually converted into a restaurant.   Many
celebrities have dined here as well as politicians, tourists and locals for over 25 years.   The restaurant has been
featured on the Travel Channel's "Ghostly Getaways".

Poogans is reportedly haunted by a ghost named Zoe St. Amand, a school teacher at the Craft's House School
which was just up the street.   Zoe and her sister Liz resided at Poogans, renting out the bottom half of the
house.   She has been seen and felt by staff and customers in many ways.   She has usually been spotted as a
older woman wearing a black dress and her hair is up in a bun.   Objects have been known to move or disappear.
It is believed that she returns desiring love and attention, things that she died without.   She never married,
outlived her sister and died alone in the house.

The food here is simply fantastic, the atmosphere is truly unique, makes Poogans a must do while visiting
Charleston.   Definitely bring a camera and get plenty of photos, something we were unable to do at the time.
And keep your eyes open for a older woman wearing a black dress with her hair up in a bun.
