Our third visit to one of our all time favorite locations to investigate, the West Virginia State Penitentiary is known as
one of the most haunted locations in West Virginia.   Recently featured on Ghost Adventures as well as Paranormal
State, the penitentiary is a huge draw for paranormal groups around the country.

Our second visit to this former civil war hospital that treated over 70,000 soldiers.   Once again we were invited
to this historic location by Mark Higgins and his team Spirit Search Paranormal Investigations.   This time
we would have the opportunity to investigate the Summer's Kitchen, a reported active area just
outside the main house.

Known as the fort that saved America, Fort Mifflin was originally built by the British in 1771.   It is the site of the
largest bombardment the North American continent has ever witnessed.    In 1777, during the American Revolution,
a five-week battle took place when the British Navy attacked Fort Mifflin on Mud Island.    Civil war prisoners
were kept at Fort Mifflin as well.    Do tortured souls still linger within the walls of Fort Mifflin?

This former inn became a hospital early in the civil war, providing care for some 70,000 soldiers, both Confederate
and Union.   Many people insist that the hotel is haunted today.   Could the souls of so many sick and wounded
soldiers still roam the hotel and surrounding grounds.   SVPS was very excited to be invited to participate on
a joint investigation with Mark Higgins and his team, Spirit Search Paranormal Investigations.

This 1760s tavern and inn has a long history of hauntings over the years.   At one time the house served as a
french fort and trading post.   It has been noted that there have been horse thieves hung on the property.
Could they be the restless souls that wander the inn and tavern?

Built in 1827, this beautiful house (now a museum) was used as headquarters for Confederate General Stonewall
Jackson in late April of 1862 during the civil war.   It is from here it is said, that General Jackson planned his
famous valley campaign, a military masterpiece.   Our second investigation of this beautiful, historic house.

SVPS was contacted in January of 2009 to investigate a residental location in Staunton, Virginia.   The family
residing at this location wanted answers and documentation of unusual events that had been occuring in their
home for some time.   SVPS's investigation policy is that all investigations are confidential and kept private
unless permission to post is granted by the client.   In this case permission was granted to post data,
experiences and our conclusion.   No names or locations will be mentioned as it is our strictest of
policies to keep this information private and confidental.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium is known as one of the most notoriously haunted locations in the United States.   Opened
in 1910 and used to treat tubercolosis patients, it has been popularized on television as being one of the "most
haunted" hospitals in the eastern United States, and was seen on ABC/FOX Family Channel's Scariest Places
On Earth as well as VH1's Celebrity Paranormal Project.   It was also seen on the Sci Fi
Channel's Ghost Hunters.

Braley's Pond is located on route 250, west of Staunton, Virginia towards West Virginia.   Located in the very
beautiful George Washington National Forest it is also the scene of many suicides, a few murders and has

Moon: Waxing gibbous with 99% of the Moon's visible disk illuminated
The battle of Sailors Creek was on April 6th, 1865 during the end of the civil war.   Known as "Black Thursday"
for the confederacy, General Lee would surrender his army 72 hours later.   Now known to have
a haunted reputation.

Point Lookout Lighthouse in St. Mary's County Maryland has been claimed by many to be one of the most haunted
locations in the state of Maryland.   The lighthouse has a long history, most noted for its operation as a POW camp
during the civil war from 1863-1865.

in our nation's history.   Now known as one of most haunted homes in the country, we still ask the question,

Moon: Full; 98-100% visible
During the Battle of Gettysburg, Culp's Hill was a critical part of the Union army defensive line, the right flank.
Loss of life was great on both sides and the ghosts of the past still linger on this critical area of the battlefield.

Bridgewater College is a very beautiful campus, but it has many secrets.   Founded in 1880, it is built on Native
American hunting grounds.   It is said to be haunted by the ghost of its namesake, Mr. Cole.
