Background History

The Lizzie Borden House located in Fall River, Massachuetts was the scene of the greatest, unsolved
murder cases in American history.   On the morning of August 4th, 1892 Andrew Borden and his wife
Abby were brutally murdered with an axe in their Fall River home.   Suspicion immediately focused on
their 32 year old daughter Lizzie who was eventually charged with the murders.   She would spend ten
months in jail awaiting trial before she was acquitted of all charges.   Despite some circumstantial
evidence that pointed towards Lizzie, the jury took less than an hour to deliberate and reach their
verdict.   There are many theories as to who may have murdered Andrew and Abby and why.   Did
Lizzie murder her father and step mother and if so, why?   Or was it someone else who had an issue
to settle with Mr. Borden?

Investigation Data and Experiences

Although there were several guests the night we stayed at the inn, we were given access to many areas
to investigate.   We had access to a few unoccupied attic rooms and the basement area as well which is
noted as highly active.   In addition, the Morse Room where Abby was murdered, we had complete access.

Audio Results: Marty/Lisa- (Minutes used on cassette recorder--60 mins. – Loud bang noise heard within the Morse Room, class C evp recorded in the Morse Room), (Minutes used on Digital Audio Recorder--
20 mins, no results)

Comments : Audio recordings were done using a Panasonic RR-QR240 Digital Audio Recorder as well as a
RadioShack CTR-122 Cassette Recorder.   Ten minutes of a question and answer format using the
digital audio recorder in the basement yielded no results.   Ten minutes of a question and answer
format using the digital audio recorder in the Morse Room yielded no results as well.   One hour of
recording time using the cassette recorder in the Morse Room did produce mixed results.   A loud
bang noise was recorded within the room, unexplained as to what it could have been.   We also
picked up what seemed to be a faint female voice, as displayed below.
