Background History

The Jean Bonnet Tavern was built by Robert Callender, a trader with the Native American tribes of Pennsylvania.   Callender
acquired the land in 1762.   Later the land and building were purchased by Jean Bonnet in 1779 and opened as an inn, which
was used as a gathering place by protesting local farmers during the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion, suppressed months later by
forces under President George Washington.

There have been many hangings over the years at the Jean Bonnet Tavern ranging from spying to stealing horses.   Haunted
activity over the years at the tavern and inn have included apparitions seen, voices heard, people being touched and objects
seen moving on their own.

Investigation Objective

Our objective was very simple, collect what data and evidence we could to support a haunting at this location or to disprove
and debunk those activities that could be rationally explained.   With six members present for this investigation, we split
into teams of two.   Teams consisting of Lisa and Marty. Ann and Jennifer, and RJ and Shea.   Each group started
on a different floor.

Investigation Data

Video
Camcorders and the dvr with IR cameras revealed nothing unusual.   We ran three IR cameras, one in the basement lounge,
one in the bar area and the last one upstairs (second floor) hallway.   IR cameras proved to be inconclusive.

Photographs

Photographs revealed a few moving orbs, two which are submitted below.   One outside by the gift shop, the other
in room four on the second floor.

Audio

Several evps were recorded in locations such as Room #4, the dining room and the upstairs attic.   One in particular was
captured in a dining room where it was actually heard as the voice was spoken.

shoulder, turned to see if anyone was behind only to disciover no one else in the room.

Personal Experiences

One personal experience as mentioned above resulted in one of the dining rooms where Marty Seibel was conducting
evp sessions.   In nearly ten years on investigating this was the first time of him actually hearing a voice and recording it
at the same time.   The question involved stealing again concerning stealing horses, a few seconds later a yeah whisper is
plainly heard.   Immediately turning to see if anyone was behind him, Marty discovered no one present.   He asks if they can
repeat themselves, there is no reply that is heard or captured on tape.   Numerous cold spots were felt in many different
locations but particularly in the tavern basement area.   A cat was also heard many times on the second floor.   The
tavern and inn has no cats to mention anywhere in the area.

Some doors in the tavern and inn would seem to shut on their own.   After careful examination, we determined it to be due to
a slight breeze combined with uneven floors in many locations.   At times it was difficult to do evp work due to the amount
of noise from outside traffic behind the inn.   A highway sits just behind the inn and can be quite heavy with traffic at times.

Final Conclusion : Haunted!

All in all this was a great investigation.   The staff and management team at the Jean Bonnet were extremely helpful and
friendly, a real pleasure to deal with.   While we did not obtain an abundance of paranormal evidence, the evidence we did
uncover, we felt quite convincing.   Several evps were captured and many more could have been.   The only drawback or
negative would be the amount of traffic on the highway at times.   This did disrupt evp sessions at times.   Still this was
a very good, solid investigation and we feel comfortable in saying we do truly believe the inn and tavern to be haunted.
